Chukku Kappi
An appetizer, also medicine in rhinitis, common cold, cough, fever
Serves 1 person
Ready in 5 minutes
Ingredients
- Dry ginger powder – ½ tsp
- Grounded Black pepper – 1 tsp
- Grounded Coriander seeds – 1 tsp
- Tulasi leaves- 1 hand full or Tulasi powder – 1 tbsp.
- Brown sugar (optional) – 1/2 to 1 tsp
- Water- 2 cups
Method of preparation
- Boil the water in a sauce pan and add all the ingredients together.
- Reduce the water into half. Add brown sugar
- Drink in warm state.
Notes: Keep it in a Thermos and drink throughout the day
Appetizer tea
To improve your Agni (digestive fire)
Serves person
Ready in 5 minutes
Ingredients
- Grated fresh ginger – ½ teaspoon
- Grounded fennel seeds – ½ teaspoon
- Grounded cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon
- Grounded coriander seeds – ½ teaspoon
- Mint leaves (Optional) – 2 or 3 leaves
- Water – 250 ml
Method of preparation
- Boil all ingredients (except mint leaves) in water for 2 minutes, filter the tea.
- Put the mint leaves and drink in warm state.
Paanakam
Helps to improve appetite and reduce abdominal discomfort
Serves 1 person

Ingredients
- Water – 2 cups
- Jaggery or palm sugar – 2 tbsp.
- Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp.
- Dry ginger powder – ½ tsp
Method of preparation
- Boil the water and add all the ingredients.
- Reduce the water into half of the total in medium flame of fire.
- Filter it and Your Paanakam is ready to serve.
Notes: You may replace dry ginger into fresh one
Lemon drink
A simple drink to improve appetite and helps in weight loss
Serves 1 person
Ready in 5 minutes
Ingredients
- Lemon juice – 3 tbsp.
- Water – 250 ml
- Honey – 1 & 1/2 tbsp.
- Green chili – one (according to your spice level)
- Salt
- Mint leaves – half hand full
Method of preparation
- Blend lemon juice together with water, honey, salt in a juicer or a blender
- Add crushed green chili and mint leaves into the drink and mix well.
Notes: You may replace green chili with fresh ginger paste.
Sambharam
An healthy digestive drink which is cooling and appetizing
Serves 1 person
Ready in 5 minutes
Ingredients
- Butter milk (made from cow’s milk) – 250 ml OR Yogurt- 150 ml + Water- 150 ml & blend well
- Salt
- Curry leaves- one string
- Green chili- one (according to your spice level)
- Lemon leaves – 2
Method of preparation
- Mix buttermilk with water
- Add salt to taste
- Crush well the curry leaves, green chili & lemon leaves and add to the buttermilk.
Notes:
- Storing in mud pot increase the cooling property and drink whenever you need.
- Finish the drink by the same day itself. Keeping for long time will ferment the mixture further.
- You may replace the green chili with fresh ginger paste
Summer Drink
A healthy re-hydrating formula
Serves 1 person
Ready in 5 minutes
Ingredients
- Fresh Aloe vera pulp – ¼ cup
- Cucumber grated – ½ cup
- Honey – 2 tbsp.
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp.
- Salt – 1 pinch
Method of preparation
- Blend all the ingredients together and drink.
Notes: You may replace cucumber with winter melon or water melon or fresh coconut water
Green juice
Serves 2 persons
Ready in 20 minutes
Ingredients
- Cucumber -1 medium sized
- Green apple – 1
- Kale – 1 handful
- Parsley – ¼ cup
- Celery – 1/2 cup
- Lemon – 1 tbsp.
- Ginger – 1 tbsp.
- Juice of 1 grapefruit
Method of preparation
- Put all the ingredients together in a blender or a magic bullet blend for 30 seconds.

Stewed Apple
A healthy re-hydrating formula
Serves 1 person
Ready in 5-10 minutes
Ingredients
- Apple – 1 (peel skin and chopped to small cubes)
- Cinnamon powder – 1/2 tsp
- Honey – 1 tbsp.
- Water – 1/4 cup
Method of preparation
- Heat a pan or skillet on low flame.
- Add water, apple and cinnamon powder and cook till the apple becomes soft. Stir continuously to avoid sticking on the pan.
- Turn of the flame and keep it till comes to slight warm. Now add honey and ready to serve.
Notes:
- Don’t add honey to anything hot.
- Can replace apples with pear.
- While cooking, can add little water if needed.
Multi seed rosto
Serves 2 persons
Ready in 10 minutes
Ingredients
- Flax seeds – 1 tsp
- Chia seeds – 1 tsp
- Black sesame seeds – 1tsp
- Pumpkin seed – 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Hemp seeds – 1 tsp
7. Sunflower seeds -1tsp
8. Poppy seeds -1 tsp
9. Coconut – ½ cup (grated)
10. Palm sugar – ½ cup
11. Whole oats grain – ½ cup
Method of preparation
- Heat a pan, add all the seeds and oats and dry roast until the raw smell fades ,keep aside.
- In the same pan sauté coconut for 2 minutes and mix palm sugar into it and stir well.
- Now add roasted seeds and mix well. The dish is ready.
