With e-commerce platforms increasing in presence, the world is virtually virtual. No more will you need to go from place to place to buy stuff. All you need to do is go from website to website or web-page to web-page.
What a beautiful concept this is. Companies have realized that the modern day working professional might not have the time to shop. So how about providing the facility online? And also making things easier by providing door-step delivery?
This thought process has spurred plenty of companies to even have dedicated television channels that advertise products. Television watchers can choose a product, call up a toll-free number, place an order, and get the product delivered at their doorstop.
So should we say that in some time there would not be physical stores but virtual stores? Yes, the possibility is strong. People are finding the online option more feasible. And also much more inexpensive.
Products sold online are much more cheaper in cost than when stored in stores. Retailers will include prices of transportation, warehousing, taxes, and other miscellaneous expenses into the price of the product. So when you buy a shoe from a physical store, you are paying for the taxes, rent, transportation as well. This never happens when you are buying a shoe from a virtual store.
Online shops have tremendous potential. It is a category of business where providers are less. It opens up a world of opportunities for manufacturers to reach customers whom they do not have geographical access to. Manufacturers can now sell anything they want to anyone without having a physical presence. If needed they can appoint a local franchisee.
